“What You See”

February 19, 2019

Good morning Lovelies. Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lord, Thank You for fearfully and wonderfully creating each of us. Thank You for giving us worth in Your eyes. Help us live as the one You uniquely intended us to be. Help us abide instead of strive, living peacefully and joyfully as heirs to Your Kingdom and co-heirs with Christ. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus. Amen.

Without our trying we model values. Our parents, in particular, demonstrated to us as children what they considered important and valuable. Then as adults, we who have children mirror the same behaviors whether good or bad, the mirrored process is the same. “Like father, like son,” is not just a well-known cliché, it is a truth repeated in our homes.

Experience has proved that children often follow the lifestyles of their parents, repeating their successes, mistakes, and failures. This happens in most cases but definitely not in all of them. Being a parent, we must remind ourselves that our children are watching the things that we do and being a Christian is a profound way of raising your children. Some of us didn’t start out as Christians even after being brought up in church when we were young.  Quiet as it’s kept some of us are still not there when we became parents. No matter when it happened, Lord knows I wasn’t, but I did the best that I knew how and raised my children. Others also did the same. Thank You, God, for giving me the insight to turn my life over to You.

We didn’t immediately realize that there were certain things or people that could have had a long term effect on your children, some good and some definitely harmful. But when we truly come into the knowledge of God and turn everything over to Him, you pray about it, ask for forgiveness for anything or anyone that you may have exposed your children to. Whether it’s a friend, family or foe who had a negative effect. It’s never too late for forgiveness and realizing that you and your children were covered by the prayers from other people and family.

Those that know me may wonder how could I say this when I’ve out-lived two of my children. Well, I can say this because my God gave me and gives me the strength continuously to know this and to thank Him for the stewardship He gave me over His children. Because they were His before they were mine. Pray without ceasing for the children of the world, yours, mine, all children. Unfortunately, sometimes it is the values of others that has the world in a state of chaos with shootings, and mass violence. Just utter chaos.

Pay attention to your children. Watch and pray about the influences that you have on them and the influences that others may have. Unfortunately, we can count on opposition, suffering, and hardship as we serve Christ. As we trust Christ, He will give us the strength to be steadfast and unmovable. It’s all in what you see.

“Pray continually.” 1Thessalonians 5:17

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities, but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 02.19.19
