Good morning Facebook family and friends, God is always teaching us to believe in Him and Him only but, sometimes we allow doubt to cloud what He teaches us. Commit yourself today to the teachings of God’s word. There is nothing to be afraid of. Be blessed to be a blessing.
At some point in our lives, if we’re honest, we have all experienced fear or being afraid. As I continue to study God’s word I am learning that even though God’s word tells us that He didn’t give us a spirit of fear but of power, love and self-control there is always something to learn and a need for understanding. I focus on fear and being afraid because sometimes I am doubtful in this area. Yes, I am one that is always giving others encouragement and telling them how to stand but this is just me being transparent. We have to be transparent in order to overcome things in life and to help others who may be experiencing what you may be going through. This is my reason for sharing with others because I want them to overcome the things that God is helping me with.
When reading God’s word we need to know that even though some words are common sense words, they may have a different meaning in the Bible. The word “fear” is one of them. The Bible mentions two types of fear. One is beneficial to us and should be encouraged. The second one is much different and we should definitely try to overcome this form of fear.
The first type teaches us about the fear of the Lord. It doesn’t mean that we should be afraid of Jesus. Rather it is a respectful admiration of God: A reverence for His power and glory. However, it is a proper respect for His wrath and anger. In other words, the fear of the Lord is the total acknowledgement of all that God is, which comes through knowing Him and His attributes.
Fear of the Lord brings with it many blessings and benefits. It is the beginning of wisdom and leads to good understanding. Furthermore, fear of the Lord leads to life, rest, peace, and contentment. It is the fountain to life and provides security and a place of safety for us. Now let’s look at the second type of fear that the Bible mentioned. This is the “spirit of fear.”
A spirit of fearlessness and faint-heartedness does not come from God. However, sometimes we are afraid, sometimes this “spirit of fear” overcomes us and to overcome it we need to trust in and love God completely. The Bible generously interspersed encouragement against fear. From Genesis to Revelation God reminds us to “Fear Not.”
We often fear the future and what will happen to us. But Jesus reminds us that God cares for the birds of the air, so how much more will He provide for His children? So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. God tells us not to be afraid of being alone, being too weak, not being heard by Him, and of lacking physical necessities. All these are “spirits of fear.”
Once we have learned to put our trust in God, we will no longer be afraid of the things that come against us. So what are you afraid of? Take it to God He is able to give you peace, rest, and deliverance from all of it. Fear-False Evidence Appearing Real.
“Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed or hidden that will not be known. That I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:26-31
Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember god loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.1.16
