Ummmph Really!

Good morning beloved. Today is going to be a great day. Why you ask? Because we are a masterpiece marvelously made. We are hand-picked by God. We are loved. We are people with extreme value and significance. To think otherwise is a trick of the enemy.

God has a way of getting you to do and say things even when you don’t want to. Today is one of those days for me. It is not my intention to offend anyone but it is something that I’m being lead to say. But that is part of our problem today as Christians we close our eyes or turn our head to so many things. We compromise our witness at numerous times throughout each day. God is not pleased. It’s time out for a whole lot of things.

One of the things that I want to address this morning is, the way you look says a lot about you. Your beauty reflects your confession. Wow! What do I mean by this? Well, it’s simply this. Ugly is what the devil is and it has nothing to do with what our world calls “beautiful” or “attractive.” God made us all in His image, but when we carry ourselves sinfully, we take on the image of the enemy! God wants His beauty to shine through us and for people to see His image on us and in us. I’m not talking about beauty on the outside, but I’m talking about ugly on the inside!

We would look so much better if we stopped putting people down, cursing people out, or telling everyone’s business to everyone! Yep, I said it. We “all” have been guilty! We would look so much better if we stopped using foul language, stopped smoking and drinking excessively and stopped being undercover sinners! We would look so much better if we stopped sleeping around and being caught up in so much mess all the time.

Some things we do really make us look bad and the sad part is that many of us do not even notice how foolish we look or sound! There is nothing wrong with looking good as a Christian, but trying to look sexy and seductive is definitely not becoming of a Christian. Showing all of your goodies when you come to church is just not appropriate. But I guess since some churches these days have started portraying themselves as a club, people that come to church can’t see the distinction. Whoo, another post all in itself. Anyway, you are not the focus of the service, so why are you trying to be the bomb up in God’s house? I’m not saying that we should be looking all dried up either, but modesty is the key.

Once a person learns who they are in Christ they will not have to “floss” in the natural so much. Once you realize that worshiping God has nothing to do with how you look, but how you live. I’m so tired of seeing folks up in church dressed all stank, showing off all their latest tattoos and body piercings, then complaining about how the devil is messing with them all the time. Am I bashing tattoos? No, not by any means. I just feel that some places that they are on, shouldn’t be all exposed when you are in church. After all when we go to church the (building) it is a place where Saints gather together in reference to God so it should be treated as holy ground. I know someone will disagree but you’re entitled to your beliefs just as I am.

Let’s grow up people of God. Look nice, be modest, clean up the inside and it will show on the outside. We would look so much better if our heart was clean along with our outer appearance!! We would look so much better if we would stop spraying on Christ like a cologne when we need to smell good. Using cologne without a bath stinks!!! Claiming Christ without changing your lifestyle….Well, you get the picture! Christ should always look good, inside and out!!!

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.” Matthew 23:27

Live life, give people hope. Share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says that there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 2.14.16
