Good morning beloved. God’s grace is always sufficient. I thank Him for it every day. God gives us so much to be thankful for. Today is no different. Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.
Today I’m at the hospital with my Mom who is having surgery. As I sit here in the lounge I noticed a sign on the wall that says “Procedural Care Unit.” Wow. The Holy Spirit drew me to these words. According to the hospital, the Procedural Care Unit (PCU) was designed to place clinical expertise and equipment with dedicated support services in one integrated area to enhance the delivery of quality care to patients. The unit has been designed for flexibility, operational efficiencies, and advanced technology. The consolidation of these procedural services into a central location minimizes unnecessary patient movement and helps to promote quality outcomes and safety.
Procedural Care Units, like individuals beset by stress, often get disturbed and develop symptoms, as a matter of course. They are often in the difficult position of resolving issues on behalf of individual care seekers and communities for which there are no simple resolutions. Even when satisfactory resolutions are reached, they are not likely to remain effective over a long period of time. People’s needs are ever changing. They provide in short, the secure base from which care seekers can venture forth toward their own growth, healing, and learning. In short, people are more likely to fully receive care when they feel securely held by others. The relationship between caregiver and care seeker echoes, sometimes faintly, and other times loudly, the dynamics of secure base relations.
But isn’t this just like God? Many of us are in the Procedural Care Unit or need to be. God has to get us to that place of where were see that in order for us to be okay, to thrive, survive and to live we have to sometimes go to the procedural care unit. Our relationships with Him echo the dynamics of secure relationships. Life throws all sorts of things at us. It’s easy to get discouraged and simply lower our expectations for life. But our faith tells us to expect great things from God and attempt great things for God and this is what God’s procedural care unit does for us daily. We just have to check in and be admitted for a time. But when we check out we have to follow the discharge instructions that we are given. If we follow them to the letter we will have great results, recover well and end up with long term, sometimes permanent results. Distraction, anxiety, and worry seem to be very normal for most people in our culture. Jesus invites people to embrace a life of one simple purpose – to love and be loved by him. We can get this by being in His procedural care unit and staying in His Word.
God loves the world and wants to heal the longstanding wound that has damaged the original wholeness of his creation. His redemptive mission, which he invites us to be a part of, can be seen as a windstorm that bursts out from his heart toward the world. Step into His Procedural Care Unit!!!!

Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom and resources. Neve place a period where God says there should be a comma.
