Good morning Lovelies. God continues to bless me. Dear God, I just want to thank You for this day. May your blessings shower on us. You are great and there is none like You. Today God, I ask for prayer for everyone that may read this today. I pray for this country, everyone that may be experiencing sickness right now. Lord help me to remember what a difference it makes when I make time with You a priority. Awaken me in body and spirit each day with a desire to meet with You and to hear You speak. May these words that flow from this post, bless, encourage, lift and comfort all that read them in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
Pit experiences come into our lives when we least expect them. I try to be as transparent as I can when writing this post. I want others to know that they are not alone when it comes to trials and tribulations. Last year the word that I kept hearing in my spirit was “Transparent.” I asked God what did He mean by being transparent? My answer was when you share what I’m giving you be transparent about yourself when sharing. So, I try to use the experiences that I’ve had or I am having to help others.
I can pinpoint when my pit experience began. Although I was moving and getting my grind on. I can now look back and see when the pit began to open up for me. But, I just didn’t pay it any attention. You see I was always looking for ways to make more money and never had a problem finding jobs. The year was 2002. I was working two eight hour jobs, raising my sons as a divorced mother and making it happen as they say. I would clean the lines at a local meat company at night and get suited & booted in the locker room every morning to go work at the Law Library. I thought about God every day. Prayed to Him daily, but my walk was raggedy. Although I thought about Him, He became a back burner though. (This is another post all by itself). I didn’t intentionally become the person I was at the time. But, I got a big head behind how my finances were flowing and how the struggle was minimal at the time.
But you see as I stated I thought “I” had it going on and forgot about the one that made it really happen. Then it happened I was told I need surgery. The surgery was one that was done on a daily basis for doctors. It was major but at the time not thought to be life-threatening. So we thought. Well, surgery was done and four days after being discharged my son had to rush me back to the hospital. He was told if he had of waited 30 more minutes I would have died. They found that all my vital organs had shut down everything but my heart. (another post all by itself). The heart ummph. I digress. I ended up back in surgery because there was infection throughout my body finding out that I was septic. Fast forwarding, I ended up in the hospital for almost eight months and in a medically induced coma for a month and a half. I know I shared a lot right here but I want you to get the picture of How God uses your pit experience for your good. I had to learn how to walk, talk and write all over again when I was brought out of the coma.
People would ask me did I hear anything that was being said to me while in my coma and I didn’t. But, what I did hear was God telling me that because I forgot about Him, He had to lay me down and do a cleansing in me. Not only am I going to cleanse you, but I’m also using you to show My power. You see by man’s standards I shouldn’t be here to even be writing this post. BUT GOD!!! God has to sometimes take you through some things to get you where He wants you to be, learn what He wants you to learn, do what He tells you to do.
But I am thankful to be alive and honored to be alive sharing this with you. God has proven Himself again to be able to keep and to heal and to strengthen. But this is not where the story ends. Why does God permit us to have “pit experiences?” Contrary to what some preachers or pastors say, the child of God does have “pit experiences”. God does not shelter us to the degree that He does not permit us to go through some experiences! I believe that there is a reason that God allows us to be thrown in the “pit” sometimes. Just let me say that God has a reason for your pit experience. So what might that reason be? For me, I would have to say that first, it was to teach me patience. When I first came out of my coma I was bitter and angry. I couldn’t understand what had happened and why, because it was a surgery that they did every day as I stated previously.
I had to pray for God to take away my complaining spirit. He did just that. Even though I didn’t get out of the hospital right away just that prayer alone was the catalyst to me learning patience. After all, I had no idea that I would be in the hospital as long as I was. So I had to learn patience. Listen, many times God cannot do what He wants through us because we are too impatient! But you can’t rush God no matter how you try. You just have to wait on Him. Secondly, I think it is to get us to do things the way that His Word says we should. Thirdly, I feel that it is His way of getting us to see who we really are-our character. Sometimes we can’t see who we are until we are thrown in a “pit.” There are many saved and unsaved people that are in “pits” because they want to do things their way. The pits of life can make us travel the way of the Lord and not our way!
A lot of times we won’t pray until we get into a “pit experience!” These experiences get us to talk to Him. We also may go through a pit experience if God is leading us to a ministry that He has for us to do. It is part of the preparation to get us ready for what it is He has for us to do. The question is what is God trying to do with you today? Let me suggest that while you are in your pit experience, hold on to God’s unchanging hand! I did and it blessed me tremendously. To God be the Glory!!!!
“But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.
Here comes that dreamer! they said to each other. Come now, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams. When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands. Let’s not take his life,” he said. Don’t shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him. Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father.
So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe the ornate robe he was wearing and they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it.” Genesis 37:18-24
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 1.13.19
