The God That Is More Than Enough

“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive -to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” Marcus Aurelis

Good morning beloved. Grace and mercy be upon you today. God is doing great things amidst all the chaos that we see daily. Don’t give up hope, because at the end of the day God “IS” still on the throne. You will never have this day again so make it count!

As I sit and sip on my coffee, I look around the house and I first thank God for His many blessings. I think about how even before I arrived at this point and time in my life, God had given me the ability to abound and abase in everything that I had. This has nothing to do with any form of materialism. Do I like nice things? Of course, I do, but I have never been materialistic. But it’s more than that. I wasn’t always content with my life. I couldn’t put my finger on it but I wasn’t. I had a façade of being happy and I could have received an “Oscar” for the role I played. This became a series in my life that I’m finally glad has gone off the air. It had too many reruns! But my mind was on the word “Enough.” Enough of playing the role. Enough of the abuse. Enough of the sleepless nights. Enough not knowing how I would pay the bills. Enough worrying about everyone but myself. Enough fearing for the life of my sons. Enough feeling empty. I can go on but you get the picture. Just think about your “enough,” right here.

God has a way of placing you in a place and time where you can truly find out who you are, whose you are, and how there is more than going through life feeling like you’re sitting in a seat at the movies with a box of popcorn. Or, if the movie reel breaks you have no control over it. Life is full of choices and one day we have to wake up to the reality that these choices, have been given to each and every one of us. You shouldn’t make mine and I shouldn’t make yours. One of the greatest choices is whether we choose to follow Jesus or not. It is a choice. But what changed my role was when I became the leading lady and realized that what I needed was to remember that God was more than enough. In other words, I began to remember how I was raised in church, and how I loved God. But what really brought this full circle was, when I changed from just knowing God and developed an intimate relationship with Him. Everything changed in that instance. Every “enough,” that I listed and then some had changed because I had given them to Him. I realized that God is “more than enough!”

God is more than enough for you too. If you really believe this, your worries are over. What I mean by “over,” is that “you” don’t have to handle them on your own anymore because God is more than enough.  There’s a lot of gloom and doom in our world today. As a Christian, it is easy to develop an ungodly fear that can govern our actions because we’re only putting our trust in what we see. But, when you come to the place where He is all you have, you will find that He is all you need! He is more than enough! He is El Shaddai-The God That Is More Than Enough! You may not know how you’re going to make it, and you may have to make some changes, but God said to give your cares to Him, because He cares for you.  Don’t fret or worry over the temporal things.  Don’t let the devil get you down.  When things are at their worst God is at His best, for when we are weak He is still strong and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  Despite the bad news, we must continue to believe the Good News.  We must remember that God “IS” and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6).  He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is more than enough!

We are living, they say, in a frail and weak economy.  For a whole lot of people, these are tight and tough times.  As bad as things might get, the church and the people of the church are called upon to witness and testify that we must never underestimate God’s abundance.  For those of us in need; for those of us under pressure; for those of us who experience crises of any kind, the same claim of God in the Old Testament is the claim of God for us today. Never underestimate God’s abundance.  God will provide.  God will help.  God will make possible the impossible.  You may not have much, but with God and the little bit you might have, it is more than enough. But sometimes you gotta stop trying to figure out how God is going to bless you; you just have to step back and say, “God, do your thing in my life,” because you are more than enough!

I have learned that sometimes God calls on us to suffer a little, give more, and sacrifice a little deeper so that others needier might have.  Most of the time it amazes me how God can take our “little bit”, and when we attempt to be a blessing to others, it always counts and comes up more than we could imagine.  You know what I am talking about — you give your last dollars to a person on the street, and you find that what you gave has been multiplied.  When we are on the giving end, God multiplies what we have. Why, because He is more than enough! Sometimes the blessing of your stewardship is not for you; it is for someone who may be suffering more than you. Embrace this day knowing and showing the world that your God is more than enough for you and them!

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7

Liv life, give people hope. Share your heart, wisdom and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 2.3.16
