Good morning lovelies. Christ showed His love by dying for us. We should show ours by living for Him. Just as He rises and sets the sun, He raises you every morning. This is not by accident praise God. Start your day with Jesus and end your day with Him. Each day that you are blessed with is a new day to be transformed.
As I was meditating on what God wanted me to give to you. I sat and listened to the pinging of the hail that happened to be coming down mixed with the rain. I thought to myself, here it is almost the end of March with Easter vastly approaching and there is talk of snow. We should be going into the season of spring. This time of year, people are always talking about it is time for spring cleaning. Spring cleaning is a time when they clean things that they never usually think about. They throw out things that they haven’t used in years. Thinking about this premise, our lives can become cluttered with many things also. Some are obvious, such as material things, the stuff we collect. Other things that clutter our lives and use up our time are not as obvious as the material stuff in our lives. They are more subtle and just seem to evolve, taking control of us. I have a two-year rule. If it’s something that has been boxed up for a period of two years then it’s something that I don’t need anymore. But, do I follow this rule to the letter? Usually not. There always seems to be something that I can find in one of those boxes that I will tell myself I need to keep. But I wondered how many people include themselves in this process of spring cleaning? Much like the decision that I make when going through those boxes, we do the same when God is trying to get rid of some things in our lives. We want to hold onto some stuff. And that’s exactly what it is stuff.
This cleaning can consist of getting rid of many things. Such as that ugly attitude that you have, the habits that you have that you feel no one knows about but you, but you hide them when you are around others. Don’t be fooled God knows. He sees all and knows all. The list can go on and on. We have to get rid of the clutter in our lives that prevent us from being the people that God would have us to be. A cluttered life is a life you have no control of. It is a life in which the things you have surrounded yourself with, and allow to use up your time, are controlling you and negatively influencing your happiness and eternal progress. We have to learn how to get rid of those things that are like weeds in our lives. We are individual lots on which either weeds of selfishness grow. Or, the fruit of the Holy Spirit grows and flourishes. These weeds can grow so tall that they clutter our thinking, our actions, and stifle anything positive in our lives. Just as we have to get rid of them in a natural yard or garden in order to have beauty and something grow, we have to do the same for our hearts and minds in order for the Holy Spirit to flourish. Is it time for spring cleaning in your life?
The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of what will come. His work in our lives today and at this time of cleansing, assures us that the cleansing process will be thoroughly completed in Jesus’ presence. Each time the Holy Spirit reminds you of Scripture, convicts you of sin, restrains you from selfish behavior or prompts you to love, you have the evidence that He is present. You have the Spirit within you beginning the transformation process. The cleansing process. Your spring cleansing.
Some people are distracted and worried about what others think about them. They’re preoccupied with pleasing man or woman and gaining their approval. Still, others are pulled by their insecurities, trying to find significance in achieving and performing. So they are deceived into believing that there isn’t anything that they need to get rid of spiritually to include in this “spring cleaning” process. But as I stated this is a deception. So when you think about the act of “Spring Cleaning” start with your heart and mind, so that you can do what God is calling you to do and be who He is calling you to be. The most important garbage to get rid of is clutter that you have allowed to collect in your heart and mind.
“Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come.” 2 Corinthians 5:5
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always, peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities, but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 3.20.18
