Good morning my friends. Good morning is not just a word, it’s an action and a belief to live the entire day well. Morning is the time when you set the tone for the rest of the day. Set it right!~ Fain Blake
Struggles come in many forms. They can be life struggles or inner struggles. Both of these can be more than anyone can bare if they are dealing with them alone. When struggling, it is important to have support. So often in life people are shunned, talked about or ostracized because they are struggling. What stands out about this to me is that in these cases when this happens, the person that is doing these things to others forgets to look in the mirror. We all have struggled or are struggling with something. Prayer, worship, having faith, depression, addictions, finances, love, careers, anxiety, power, and family. Although this does not exhaust the types of struggles that people encounter, it is usually dealt with on a daily basis by someone.
But, just because someone’s struggle is not like another’s, doesn’t give anyone the right to treat people in the manners I listed above. I know sometimes that a person really looks like they are really messed up. Or, that they are struggling all the time, but this is no reason for them to be treated as if they are beneath you. People who treat others with disdain are usually the one who needs to look in the mirror in the mornings, they would see that the person they are mistreating could be them. None of us are exempt from struggle! Struggle knows no age, race, and religion. It doesn’t discriminate.
Jesus shares an important truth with us, when He asked, “Who of you by being worried can add a single hour to their life?” (Matthew 6:27). Aren’t most of the struggles of this life, especially when viewed in hindsight, nothing more than an inconvenience? We live through the struggles of life, we grow through the struggles of life and hopefully, we learn from those struggles that they are no more than, an inconvenience. Once we go through them we become empowered. If we are honest, most of the situations that we become most anxious about, are also the ones that we have little or no control over. But, what about when we have inner struggles? Why do we do the things we do? What causes us to do things we really don’t want to do? Why do I struggle with not doing the things I really want to do?
Sometimes I feel like my inner battery has been sucked dry of its power to sustain me and keep me functioning in all the capacities I’m called upon. I think it’s a common experience for most of us, that we can feel like what is being required of us to make it through or to handle our struggles, is taking more energy than we have in our emotional/spiritual/physical batteries sometimes. The good news is there is a solution, and God has something even better than an Energizer bunny for our souls and our struggles. So with all this being said, let me say this. Share in others struggles. What do I mean by this? Although we struggle, God does not want us to struggle alone. I hear people say often, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” “Am I my sister’s keeper?” Yes, you are! Shared struggle doesn’t mean that you have to experience someone else’s struggles. But, it does mean that if you know they are struggling then you should be there for them!
Struggles come and struggles go, but when we are struggling we can be sure that there is someone who cares and will never shun us, talk about us, or ostracize us. We can turn to a source of help that will share in our struggling, taking it upon Himself to bring us out and to strengthen us in our struggles. He shows us that no matter what we struggle with He is able to handle it!!!
Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 2.9.16
