Setting the Stage

April 11, 2016

“Setting the Stage”

Good morning Facebook family and friends, today is a new day. We may have some of the same issues that we faced yesterday but what I want to say to that is, when you’ve done all that you could do just stand and watch the power of God.

To understand this is to realize that there is a battle going on. Yes, a battle that basically we feel we cannot fight. To recognize the battle we need to begin with acknowledging that we are in a war. Battles make up smaller components of a bigger picture. By definition battles involve combat between two persons, between factions, between armies and they, consist of any type of “extended contest, struggle, or controversy.” (Webster-Merriam)

As Christians, we are involved in a spiritual battle whether we recognize it or not. Satan, who seems to be running rampant in the world, tries to blind our eyes to his very existence. He has as well as kept some from knowing the salvation and deliverance we can have in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are in a spiritual battle of some sort on a daily basis. In warfare battles are fought on different fronts, for different reasons and with varying degrees of intensity. The same is true in spiritual warfare. Our battles are real even though we cannot physically see the attacker.

We have to ask ourselves, “Why do we even want to fight?” especially when we can’t see the attacker. When we are born again and transferred from the power of darkness into the Kingdom of God, we have available the infilling and power of the Holy Spirit (that is now in all of us) to do battle against Satan and his host. With the authority that comes from Jesus (who destroyed all the works of Satan); we can have victory over the devil. Jesus is now interceding for us, but we must stand clothed in the full armor of God, resisting Satan as he attacks our bodies, our families, our friends, our churches, our jobs, our finances, and our society.

We are given specific weapons to wage warfare against principalities and powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickednesses in high places. Satan, on the other hand, likes nothing better than to get us into fleshly battles with each other. Every day victory is achieved by knowing, believing and understanding the battles that we are enduring daily, regardless if we are passive or active in the battle. Do you really want all that God has for you on this earth right now, or do you want to wait until you get to heaven to receive the victory and blessings?

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that eaxlteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” II Corinthians 10:4-5

“And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” I Samuel 17:47

Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.11.16
