January 5, 2019
Good morning Lovelies. The tree does not bother about the flowers that fall it is always busy making new blossoms. Life is not about what we lost so far. It’s about what we can still grow. Good morning Lord. This is the day that You have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. With gratitude, I thank You for preserving my life for one more day. With gratitude, I thank you for the ultimate gift of love for me, in the form of Your Son and the sacrifice of His life on my behalf. Because of this overwhelming gift that I often cannot comprehend, I humbly submit to You. I don’t know what this day holds, but I know that you hold the day. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus. Amen.
As I sit here listening to the quietness and just focusing on the things that have transpired these first four days of the New Year of 2019, I begin to think about the ever constant reality that nothing really changed in the world except the year. The devil has no new tricks. They’ve gotten more treacherous, but nothing new. He keeps using the same tactics over and over to test you, try you and cause you to fail. Oh, he may make it prettier, or he disguises it better to trap you in the allure of it. Or, brings up things from your past, making you think that you hadn’t gotten over them. Suggesting that you never will.
But, God never lives in the past. God only moves forward. He doesn’t even consider your past when He is working on you. As a matter of fact, He doesn’t even care to remember your past. But the enemy will definitely keep bringing up things that made you stumble. When it involves your past or when it is something that you once struggled with, you can bet it’s the enemy testing your progress. God matures us and then God allows the enemy to try us to prove our progress. Before you can move to the next level, you must first pass the test for the level you are on now.
So many of us are stuck on the same level for years because we will not let go of, people, places and things that cause us to fail. But until you master your level, you will not be promoted. You have to desire to get better, and you have to desire to be free to get free. As long as you are holding on to the same stuff, then you will not make any progress. Some of us carry the same ol’ baggage-stuff from year to year. That’s why every time the year changes nothing changes in your life. Because you’re carrying the same o’ stuff.
God wants us to desire to please Him and desire a better way of living. Sometimes we can do the same thing for so long that we lose sight of the real way it should be done. This is why the church, fellowship, and reading the Word is so important because it does not let us stay the same. But by seeing and hearing others testimonies and reading God’s Word will cause us to grow and not stay the same. Anything that does not grow is dead! Plain and simple! You will be a walking spiritually dead person if you stop growing. No God in your life, No Victory, No Progress. Your life indeed will be “Same Ol’, Same Ol’.” Strive for excellence in your walk and get hip to the devil’s tactics. Know that it is him and recognize when you should change things in life because you did recognize that it was him.
When the same Ol’ temptation comes, start resisting with everything you got! When that same ol’ depression comes, block it out and speak the Word of God. When that same ol’ situation tries to raise its’ head run for your life into the shadow of the Almighty. Do what you have to do, but avoid doing the same ol’ things.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress, And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 1.9.19
