Reconnect to the Power

Good morning beloved. The power source of life is a constant current. In the morning, we should wake up and say, “Father, thank You for another beautiful day. I commit this day, my plans, and my future in Your hands.” When you start the day like this, you are acknowledging God. He promises to crown your day with success.

Do you need direction in your life? Ask yourself, “Am I acknowledging God in all my ways?” In other words, is He first in your life? All throughout the day, we should be acknowledging God, asking for His help, seeking His wisdom, obeying His commands and thanking Him for His goodness. Connecting to your source of power! “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” Alice Walker

God is the source of all power, and prayer is essential to experiencing His power in our lives. When you think of the power source, do you think of the electric or gas company? You see the electrical current (power) in our heart can become very weak. How about your power source for your life? God is your source of power and spending time in His Word and presence strengthens your power.

Today, plug into God’s word and renew His power in your life. God is the reason for all of your blessings, not just some of them. These blessings are the results of His power. Imagine that you are going to Best Buy to purchase a new refrigerator. (You get a really expensive one $3500.) They deliver your shiny new appliance into your home, put it in place and you stuff it with plenty of all your favorite groceries. The next morning you go eagerly to the kitchen refrigerator and open the door, but the shelves don’t glide out automatically, they just sit there. What’s worse, the melted ice cream in the freezer section has run down and is all over everything. Your vegetables have turned color and the milk has gone sour. It dawns on you that your top of the line refrigerator is not functioning as you were led to believe it would.

You pick up the phone, call that salesperson who sold you this merchandise and when he answers you give him a piece of your evangelical Christian mind! Lol The salesman says, “Well, will you please open the fridge door and see if light comes on? ¨ NO LIGHT!  Would you put your ear down at the bottom and let me know if you hear the hum of the motor? ¨ NO HUM! If you don’t mind, would you kindly look around the back of the refrigerator and see if the cord is plugged in tight? ¨ END OF CORD LOOSE ON FLOOR!

You come back on the phone and you say, “The cord hasn’t been plugged in, but for 3,500 dollars that shouldn’t matter! It ought to work just on general principle! ¨That’s when the salesman explains that appliances are intricately designed to have astounding capabilities however, they are dependent in nature! While they have all the necessary parts to perform everything the manufacturer has designed it to do they are not able to accomplish this on their own.      They first need to be empowered by the fire that electricity provides only then can the parts do what the parts were created to do.

When you and I gave our lives to Jesus Christ, he gave us NEW PARTS. (New mind, new heart, new conscience, a new disposition). But sometimes it looks just like the unplugged refrigerator, it doesn’t work. Sometimes it appears that coming to Christ is like buying a car that is a lemon, it just doesn’t seem to function the way we were lead to believe it would. That’s why you and I need to understand we are dependent in nature. We were never re-created in Christ to function on our own. We need power. We need enabling from another source to ignite the proper functioning of the new nature God has provided us. Christian living only works when we are fully connected to the one source of enabling, God’s Holy Spirit-The Power Source!

The Holy Spirit is our link to God’s reality and power! Have you ever been stranded somewhere with a dead battery in your car? You’re in trouble but fortunately a kind stranger parks alongside your stranded car and with the hoods open on both cars, a set of jumper cables is attached to both batteries, linking them. Then the other person starts the ignition in his car. What happens next is a transferring of power. Through the cables, power from the living battery is transferred to the dead one. One battery borrows life from the other so the dead battery is alive as the living battery already is. BUT FOR ALL THIS TO HAPPEN THERE MUST BE A CONNECTION-The Power Source.

The basic problem of every human is that we’re stranded. We need life inside our dead battery to give us the ability to become all that God wants us to become. Jesus is our friend who comes to the rescue and the Holy Spirit is our set of jumper cables. His job is to connect our life with Christ’s life, allowing a transfer of HIS life to ours. If you are born-again, inside of your inner self is HIM (the Holy Spirit).        God has become a person who is no longer external from us but internal. The Holy Spirit is not just a power to be used.

The Holy Spirit is God’s engine dwelling in you. So how do you turn the key? What act of your will does it take to begin moving forward in a Spirit-filled life? Living by the Spirit’s power begins in your thinking. The Power helps us to realize our purpose and mission. The spiritual life must be lived and nourished from the inside out, but most of us try to do it from the outside in. The problem with most of us is that we think that the way to grow spiritually, or the way to fix anything that might be wrong inside us, is to do enough of the right external stuff. But that is all backwards. The Holy Spirit’s job is to control, influence, and enliven everything about us starting from the inside out. When God intervenes in our life, it is to make sure that we have the power we need for accomplishing His purposes. The Holy Spirt will give us “Power” to P-practice supernatural living, O-overcome sin and temptation, W-walk through daily challenges, E-enlighten your decision making, R-realize your purpose and mission!

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11

Live life, give people hope. Share your heart, wisdom and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 3.3.16
