Good morning Lovelies, though we may not see it God is doing a new thing. Father, I come to You this morning first just to say thank You for allowing my feet to hit the floor this morning by blessing me with another day. Father may nothing separate me from You today. I want Your will to be done. Yesterday is gone and with it any regrets, mistakes or failures I may have experienced. It’s a good day to be glad and give thanks and I do Lord. Thank You for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that you want me to be. Thank You for Your amazing power and work in our lives, thank You for Your goodness and for Your blessings over us. We give You praise and thanks. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus. Amen!
Having a relationship with God does not require that you pray in front of people all the time. We have gotten so conditioned to believe that prayer has to be this great challenge and that people have to be able to see, hear, and know what we are saying for the prayer to be effective. That is just not true. Actually, it’s just the opposite.
When Jesus prayed, He always prayed in secret. He never prayed in front of anyone. He would always get off to Himself and talk to God. But, today we feel like if we don’t pray with people, pray loudly, or pray to be heard, that we have missed God somehow. But this is not true either.
Many times people will try to judge you because they want to prove something by how loud they are or how loud you are, but God says to pray in secret and He will reward you openly! Who you gonna believe? So many people abuse the term “Prayer Warrior” and they like to show themselves in service when prayer is needed. They want to be addressed as a prayer warrior but then service becomes “American Idol” and everyone starts competing for the title of the loudest and the deepest.
But, a secure Christian that is called by God to have a strong prayer ministry does not need to impress with “much speaking” as Jesus called it, but should know what they know. If Christ is Lord over your life, then you can pray when no one else is around and signs and wonders will follow you when you are before others. Signs and wonders doesn’t mean that something mystical is going to happen when you are around. It just means that others should be able to see the rewards that God is openly giving to you. Your secret prayers will put God on public display!
We all have excuses why we don’t pray in secret, in a special place alone. We say we don’t have the time to pray secretly, but we have time for everything else. Time to eat, for our children, to go to work, yet no time for what sustains all else. Jesus found a mountain, Peter found a rooftop, the prophets used the wilderness. If you love someone you will find a place to be alone. Get in your closet. Jesus set the example!!
“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:5
Love life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma. As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. krw©9.14.2020
