Good morning Lovelies. In the effort to be obedient in this journey that God has me on to bring inspirational messages to you daily, I must start it out with prayer. Prayer helps me to focus on the message. Father, this morning may Your glorious Name be praised. May it be exalted above all things. My heart rejoices in You God. You are my strength and peace Lord. May I continue to represent your peace, mercy, and love. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Some of the most frequently used phrases of saints today are, “let me pray about it,” or “I’m praying about it!” We like to sometimes use prayer as an out for our habits and frequent mistakes. Because we can say we are praying about it or working on it, without producing any results. Sure, we are to pray without ceasing. But, what are we going to do after we have prayed? I’m talking about when you keep doing the same destructive things over and over again. We keep saying that we are praying about it, yet, we keep doing it!
Prayer is good, but we also have to stop doing the things that we are praying for God to change. We can’t keep praying about something that we need to quit doing and keep doing it. We have to change! Our actions will get the same results every time if we don’t change. Prayer is not an out, but it is a means to an end. “Prayer changes things!” This is a phrase that I grew up hearing. But we should say, “Prayer changes things if you let it.” We have to turn away from what we are doing and the constant mistakes we keep making and give ourselves to God for real. Not just in prayer, but in deed!
God will honor our effort and things will get easier as we go. But, things will never change if “we” don’t change them. That’s the beauty of being a believer, created in God’s image. We have the power to change, create and destroy, just like God! But in order to do so there are things that we have to do to be able to fully use the power that God gives us the authority to use. So, if you’re expecting different results, then you must first change the way you are living. God will do the rest.
To know what we should do, and not do it is a sin also, according to the Word. It didn’t say that as long as you pray about it, it is okay. No, it says that it is a sin. That means that you don’t just need to pray about it, you need to repent about it! True repentance means turning from it. You can pray all day, every day, and yet, if you keep doing the wrong thing, you still are sinning. Let’s get past this pattern of repetitiveness in our prayer lives. These patterns damage our ministries, our homes, and our children. But God wants us to make changes in our lives that will stick and mature us. It’s good to pray and read the Word of God, but you also have to live it. We have to practice what the Word says and live what we confess in our prayers. If you want to see a change, make a change. If you are tired of the way things are going, change them! You have the power to do it, but you must stop looking for prayer to be the out or the excuse, and you must make changes. So, again if you are expecting different results when you “pray about it,” then you must first change the way you are living. God will do the Rest!
“Remember it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” James 4:17
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities, but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 02.01.19
