Good morning Lovelies. Today be a blessing to others. I know that I say this often but it is worth repeating. You never know what people are going through and I don’t take it for granted that God blesses me each and every day. So why not be a blessing to someone else. Smile at strangers. It’s easy to give someone you know a smile. Slow down and smell the coffee as they say. Say thank you, laugh and give compliments today. Lord, thank You for this day. I ask that You would guide my feet today and more specifically, my thoughts, words and actions. Please be with me throughout the day and help me navigate whatever comes my way. Most importantly, help me to reflect and live out my life in a way that is honoring You. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!
So often in life we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday living. We have become a microwaveable society. We don’t want to have to make many steps to accomplish what we can, if we don’t follow the steps exactly to get to the results. It’s like buying something new and instead of reading the instructions even if it looks simple enough to do, we still don’t read the instructions. I’ve been guilty of this myself. I’ve found from experience that you always either end up putting something together wrong. Or, you end up with extra parts when there should be none. We also do this with God’s Word. We only read parts that we feel fit our lifestyle, and that sounds good to us. We don’t read the whole chapter to get to what God is saying to us.
Many Christians don’t want to hear this truth because they want a Christianity that proclaims that they will have victory all the time. They want a guarantee that all their problems would be solved if they follow the right steps. Even if this means that they have to skip steps. But how can we plan ahead if God only leads us one step at a time? God has a plan for your lives, that includes every detail of daily living, and that we can know exactly what it is. Why is it then, that so many Christians have so many questions about God’s will? Why do they find it difficult to discern God’s will and why do they lack the assurance that they are in His will and He has ordered their steps? I really believe that it is because we want to see where the steps lead before we take them instead of trusting that God knows the plans that He has for their lives. But what we really need to do is to walk out the blueprint. We can accomplish this by taking the steps even when we can’t see where we are going.
Some steps are giant strides. One decision can commit us to a certain course for years to come, possibly a lifetime. But however big the steps may be, it is still one single step. And it will be followed by many other single steps as we walk with Jesus day by day. I do know that if we take our eyes off of Jesus when taking these steps it will lead us right back into darkness. This reminds me of when Peter was walking on the water and took his eyes off of Jesus. What did he do-he began to sink.
”And Peter answered Him, Lord if is You, command me to come to you on the water. He said ‘come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried out Lord save me. Jesus immediately reached out His hand and took hold of him saying to him ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:28-31
All Peter had to do was to keep his eyes on Jesus and he would not have begun to sink. All he had to do was to take one step at a time and walk toward Jesus. So I have two vital questions for you. “Are you ready for the test?” “And are you willing to take just one step to become closer to God?” All it takes is putting one foot in front of the other and just walk.
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma. Add a teaspoon of compassion for those in need and pray that others follow your lead.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 1.7.19
