Good morning Lovelies. Father God, every word of Scripture is given by inspiration and every word is profitable. That means that there is never a time when Your Word is read in our hearing that it is not able to and meant for our edification. We ask then that You would open our eyes to behold wonderful things in Your Word and that by Your Holy Spirit You would cause us to see, that Your Word is true and that it is good and that it is for Your glory and it is meant for our growth in grace. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Life is full of surprises. Some of us have lost something or someone and that loss has invited us into a battle to believe whether Jesus is more than enough because that loss is great and precious. Some of us today are fighting a battle in our soul to believe that Jesus is more than enough and that battle is being fought for different reasons. Others are in a battle to believe that Jesus is more than enough not because of what you’ve lost, but because of what you have. You love what you have so much and you’re hanging onto it with everything you’ve got. It means more to you than even Jesus. And you believe Him and you believe His Gospel and you know it should not be that way, but the desire to keep what you have is so powerful. It may be good, it may be really good what you desire, what you have, or, maybe not so good — but you want to keep it and treasure it.
But whether you’re fighting a battle this morning to believe that Jesus is more than enough because of what you’ve lost, or because of what you have, or because of what you want, or all three, The Bible has a Word for you to show that He is more than enough! As a Christian, it is easy to develop an unbiblical fear that can govern our actions because we’re only putting our trust in what we see. I grew up hearing preachers say that God only supplies our needs, not our wants. Yet, in the Bible, God clearly shows us that He wants to meet not just our needs, but also our wants.
One of the names of our God is Jehovah Jireh, which means “the all-providing One”. He provides more than enough. The God of more-than-enough came in the flesh and walked among His people. Even in the midst of tragedy it so hard to see the hand of God! But God is enough, even when struggles come our way that we cannot or ever will be able to comprehend. From experience, I have found that as long as I try to fix the problems without trusting the Lord to deal with them, then I am left feeling frustrated and without hope. Peace comes as I lean on God for the answers and wait for His timing. Because He is more than enough. I wish I could say that I immediately filled my heart with an abundance of faith and never doubted God’s ability to bring me through my trials for a single moment. But my attitude was to face things one day at a time. It has given me the ability to abound and abase in all things. Because He is more than enough. Having seen so many miracles in these recent years I know that He is more than capable of working all things out for our good. When you come to a place where He is all you have, you will find that He is all you need! He is more than enough!!!
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.18.18
