The heart is a very important organ for the body. We tend to treat it as if it has menial importance. Hearts have been broken, crushed and trampled on. So often it is given when it isn’t time, thought about or deserved. We know that these things happen because the heart in its’ natural condition is evil, treacherous and deceitful. What’s the most common affliction that plagues people today? Heart trouble. It is the disease that causes an early death. Our biggest problem is not external but internal; all of us have a heart problem. But, the heart is more important than any of these circumstances. There’s an affliction that is more deadly than a malfunction of an organ that pumps blood throughout our bodies. It’s a spiritual heart disease from which we all suffer.
What God desires from us is our heart. We may not understand our hearts but God does. He knows the secrets of our hearts. In order for a person to be saved, then, the heart must be changed. God’s work of creating a new heart within us involves testing our hearts and filling our hearts with new ideas, new wisdom, and new desires. Jesus the greatest heart specialist, made a diagnosis regarding the heart when He said that “out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things that defile a man.” (Matthew 15:19-20)
The heart is the core of our being, and the Bible sets high importance on keeping our hearts pure: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23). We need a new heart to be made alive. But how can we get this new heart, we need to ask God for a spiritual heart transplant. It takes the healing touch of Jesus. We need more than a new start, we need a new heart.
“Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.” Psalm 17:3
“ You shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” Deuteronomy 8:2
Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
