Good morning friends. This song was on my heart this morning. I just couldn’t stop singing the chorus. God is the joy and the strength of my life, removes all pain, misery and strife, He promised to keep me, never to leave me, He’ll never, never fall short of His word. I’ve got to fast and pray, stay in that narrow way, I’ll keep my life clean every day, I want to go with Him, when He comes back, I’ve come too far and I’ll never turn back. God is, God is, God is, God is, God is my all and all. Wow! It is so awesome when you wake up with a song on your heart.
When we were children, many of us heard frustrated parents asking if we really heard them when they reminded us to do something. Whether it be to finish cleaning, our homework, and the list can go on and on. We may have claimed to have heard but our actions and attitude said otherwise. This made me think about how some of us are when we hear about the gospel of Jesus. Have we really heard? Did we really respond? It’s easy to put off making a decision and this becomes a greater tendency when it seems a long way off.
The gospel is a simple but heart-penetrating truth. The Bible tells us that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness, which results in separation from God. But, the Bible also says that because of God’s compassion for us, He became a man and allowed Himself to be nailed to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. It’s not enough just to know the truths of God. We must respond to them by making a personal choice to do so. Scripture tells us that “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become His children, to those who believe in His Name.
Have you heard the call? Will you respond to the spiritual truth of Jesus? It can be expressed in a simple prayer like this: Jesus I know I’m a sinner and I can’t save myself. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin. I receive You as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” John 1:12
Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.28.16
