Dwelling

Good morning beloved. I am so grateful for the sovereignty of God. He is ever-present. God wants us to bring everything to Him. Especially our weaknesses, struggles, and circumstances and receive His peace. Do not wear yourself out with analyzing and planning. Instead, let thankfulness and trust be your guides through this day, they will keep you close to Him.

You know as I read the different post and watch different individuals, I’ve come to realize that they are residents of so many different places. They have a physical residence but their mind has several locations that it resides in. I know you’re probably saying to yourself, “this is highly impossible.” But is it really? Think about it for a minute. Our mind can be thinking about a number of things at one time. Good, bad, or indifferent it can do this. But one thing that the mind tends to do well is to take up residency in places that are seedy at best. What do I mean by this? In other words, we have a tendency to think about old hurts, pains, negativity, or on things that we feel will never change.

You find yourself thinking one sad thought after another. You never let go, get over or forgive in these areas. Yep, you guessed it, you dwell in it until it consumes you and even when you have been given a way out and a new place to live you don’t want to get rid of any of it. You’re afraid that if you do you won’t have anything worth living for. Even when you know it’s somewhere that you need to move on from you try to find reasons to stay. Maybe if you fix it up some, it will make you feel better, throw a little paint on it-which would be your denial, it’s going to look better. It can be a conflict with someone, something at work, your living conditions, your finances, your health, whatever! You are stuck in this Dwelling.

Being stuck dwelling in a place that you have out-grown or refuse to give up is not what God desires for you. God desires to have a dwelling place among us. Definitely in the places where it causes us pain. For example, if you were invited to house-sit you could not make any substantial changes in the house while you were there because the house would not belong to you. Even if you found the color of the paint highly distasteful and didn’t like the floor plan or the way the furniture was arranged you could do nothing about it because the house would not be yours.

The Holy Spirit is in the same position. He might not like a thousand different things you do, but there is nothing He will do about them until you give your life to Jesus Christ. When you “sell out to Jesus,” by turning your life completely over to Him and give Him total ownership of your house, He will make the necessary changes in your life to dwell there. Your house will be God’s design. The truth about our “Dwelling Place” is, a dwelling place must be prepared. The Israelites had to prepare a tabernacle in the wilderness. We must prepare Our Hearts. Blueprints are created (like building a house). You have the plans on how to build. God will calculate or order the steps for your life, for building this dwelling. Without calculated plans your house will be out of spec. A Dwelling place must be preserved. A house that is not maintained will soon be condemned. A dwelling Place must be Protected. Not just anything or anyone could go  in this dwelling place.

Don’t allow just anything into your Dwelling Place, (Your Heart.) Become God’s dwelling place. God’s dwelling place is the fundamental priority of His Kingdom. If we desire to have God’s best then we need to dwell in His Secret Place – that place nearest to God’s heart, where His glory shines brightest. Your goal as a Christian should be to dwell in God’s presence continually and be a reflection of His glory to the world. In all that we do, even in His name, do we create a dwelling place for God in our hearts and lives?

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place.” Psalm 91:1-9

Live life, give people hope. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 3.11.16
