Clean Up the Environment: Yours

Good morning Facebook family and friends. Well it’s Friday and God has blessed us to see this day. My prayer is that your day will be filled with the blessings of God and that you will see the glory of the Lord throughout the day. Be a blessing to someone today.

The world has been filled with so much pollution. It comes in so many different ways and forms. What a frustrating problem it has become when you really sit back and think about it. Everyone suffers with it in some way or another, yet everyone contributes to it.

Pollution takes many forms but one type is often overlooked and probably not even consider when thinking about pollution. It is “verbal pollution.” It is passed around by grumblers, complainers, and criticizers. The poison of pessimism creates an atmosphere of wholesale negativism where nothing but the bad side of everything is emphasized.

As we think about and care about pollution we should also become concerned in regards to this type of pollution and our personal parts in it. When you focus on verbal pollution and start really being conscious of the words that you use and speak and begin to clean it up. I believe that some of us will find that we have nothing to talk about and will have to relearn conversation skills.

As we rely on the help of the Holy Spirit we can make these types of changes in our conduct, thinking and speaking. If we want to be rid of verbal pollution we must choose to change and ask God for help. It’s a great way to start cleaning up our spiritual environment. In Ephesians 4 Paul called believers to this sort of decisive action. He said, we are to “put off” the old self and its conduct that grieves the Holy Spirit. He tells us to “put on” the new self that builds up others. Help stomp out pollution-Clean up your speech.

“Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift. Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, and profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:29-32

Live life, give people hope, share your heart, wisdom and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.14.16
