“Change Me”

Kim W.

Worship

Good morning Lovelies. God is such a gracious God. On yesterday, I received several messages that access to my blog to continue reading the post was not functioning. Just that Ol’ Buzzard trying to block someone’s blessing. But, praise be to God, I was able to figure out what the problem was with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Like Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Satan can’t stop what God has for His people.

Sometimes we can become stale and complacent but God can renew us. Lord, today I surrender myself anew to Your plans and purposes for my life. I know that it’s Your desire for me to be like Jesus, and it’s the desire of my heart, too. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit. And help me to do whatever it is I need to do to be all that You want me to be, to do all that You want me to do. I stretch my hands to thee. Change me Oh God!!!!

We all, at some point in our lives, reflect on the past things of our lives. There are so many things that I can reflect on but one that God brought to mind first was the time that I truly changed my heart and allowed Him in. Yes, I studied the word and I would go to church regularly. But, I can remember like it was yesterday this one particular time. I closed my eyes and I could see the service that I was in. Not unusual Right?

As I sat in church service, my foot began to tap to the praise team’s songs that they were singing. It was so refreshing. After their song, my pastor at the time stood and prayed. “Oh Lord, we have come here today to be changed by you. Please change us. Amen. No more, no less. I remember thinking to myself humph, “that was short.” But as I sat there with my eyes closed thinking about what he prayed, his words caught me off guard. I didn’t think that I came to church that day to be changed. Refreshed yes, but changed?

You see there are so many things that we have to learn when we except God. One of them is to learn that although you have accepted God you can get into a state of being comfortable where you are. Orm thinking that you can accept God but you’re going to pick and choose what will change in your life. I know this to be true because I thought about his prayer all that week. And the revelation that I received was that as Christians we so often want God’s blessings, strength, wisdom and His power, but do we really want to be changed? Or, willingly say “Lord change me?” So that we can receive change. I know that I didn’t always feel the desire and zeal that I have today. I was speaking for myself when I made the last comment because “I” accepted Christ but there were only some things that I wanted to change. (Being transparent ya’ll). Yet, it is the thing that God is calling us to…to be changed.

First of all, we not only have to WANT to change, but we have to believe that we actually CAN change, with God’s help. This is how we begin the process of cooperating with the Lord for our transformation. Secondly, confession and repentance can lead to change. Only the Lord sees us as the finished product of what His grace can do in our lives. Only He knows the butterfly in all of us. Just as the butterfly changes from the caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly this is the same transformation that God wants for us.

Is the Lord asking you to allow Him to change you? Has your walk become stagnant and stall? Do you feel like you have become what God wants you to be? Hmm, meditate on that one. Because if you feel that you have, then you probably need to continue praying for change. Not to say that there hasn’t been growth but we all are still “a work in progress.” Change is not always easy. But, the joy and the reward of being changed into the godly person God knows that you can be, will surprise and delight you. It will bring a fulfillment that is worth every effort. And God will enable you, by His Spirit, to make the changes you have put off too long.

Don’t wait any longer for God to change your circumstances, your job, your boss, your children, your spouse or whomever or whatever is holding you back. Ask Him today to change you. He promises to transform you and you won’t be disappointed with the results. Even though you may be going through a storm right now, God can still say “Peace Be Still,” in your storm. Because one thing is for sure, His Word does not say that we will not have trials and storms anymore, just because we have a given our lives to Him. But, He can still change your stress to joy and happiness in the midst of it all.

Thank you, Lord, that I can trust you. I know I need to change, even though change has taken place, but it’s not always easy to continue to allow You to change me. Lord, You continually, tell me to be transparent. Thank You for changing my mindset about the things that have happened in my life. I thank you for allowing me to see that the transparency that You give me, is for others to see that even though we may be weak at times or broken, that You still can use someone like little Ol’ me. So, I thank You for giving me the courage and the insight to want to do so, as much as possible. I thank You, Lord, for helping me to realize that change is the only constant. Thank You for Your transforming power. In Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.

“The Spirit of the Lord works within us to become more and more like Him.”2 Corinthians 3:18

“Create in me a new, clean heart, O God, filled with clean thoughts and right desires. Restore to me again the joy of Your salvation, and make me willing to obey You.” Psalm 51:10-12

Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 3.19.18
