God morning Lovelies. It is a joy and a blessing to come to you every morning. I’m thankful to God for the words of encouragement that He has given me to share with you. If you are anything like me I can always use words of encouragement just to help make through the day at times. God, I thank You for just another day that You have kept me. May You Son Jesus shine through me on today. Move Kim out of the way so that You are seen through me. Because Lord I do recognize that is not about me. Remove the fear of how my post may be received. Give me the strength and the focus on only what you have me doing for You Lord. As I begin a new week, I lay before You my whole spirit, soul, and body. I ask that You would recalibrate all that I am to align with Your great will for me. May I keep my thoughts in line with Your thoughts. My desires in line with Your desires, my words aligned with Your Words and may all I do bring you Glory. In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
As we experience days of rain, I have mixed feelings about the rain. Part of me loves it because it is so serene. I enjoy days of just watching it rain and how the rain is needed to help things grow. It can be really calming. I have great times of meditation through some of the rainy days that I have experienced. But, there is a chaotic side to rain. There are times when the rain becomes a bad thing to have and it causes catastrophes of great magnitude. Such as the devastating floods. Whatever is in its’ path will be destroyed. It gets into places that we never want water to reach or be around. It corrupts our peace, our stability, joy, and well-being.
Trial and tribulations can rain down in our lives and cause corruption also. Corruption of our spirit is like rain on the roof. It will find any crack that exists. It will exploit the tiniest chink in our armor to get to us and fight against the good within us. This rain is like the evil that operates through people and through societies of people. They will infect us without meaning to hurt us although, sometimes the hurt is severe. This is because some know no better while others do. When it comes to society they don’t even have to persuade us, we have an unconscious “herd instinct”, a desire to be with what’s popular. The newest fade, saying, etc.
Even though this is a rain of deception that the enemy uses. And if we don’t heed the warning signs we can be consumed. Just like those who know that a flood is imminent from heavy rain and they have been warned to evacuate and decide to stay. Then when the rain is more then what they expected measures have to be taken to try to save them and stop them from being consumed by the flood waters that continue to rise. God does the same thing when we are consumed by sin or the trials and tribulations in our lives.
When we were in school as a child, we would see someone with new clothes or something name brand or designer and immediately envy them and feel the need to have the same kind of clothes. There are a lot of people who are still the same today. This leads us to buy more expensive stuff that we don’t need or can afford at times. This is symbolic to our willingness to allow others to define us.
This is a form of sinful pride, but it is no means the worst way that we conform in this day and time. The world wants to define our moral standards. Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” The key to overcoming this is the transformation through the renewal of our mind so that we can discern these sins and have the power to tell good from bad, even when we continue to hear the opposite.
The key word is “renewal” because the rain never stops trying to find the cracks in our roof. Our roof is forever under attack. We must renew our mind with God’s word, by prayer, by thinking about how the lessons we have learned apply to life. We must listen to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit, who will guide us if we don’t allow it to be drowned out.
Some of us have different explanations about rain that we have shared or heard when we were young. I know for me I heard several. The thunder was God bowling. Or, the rain itself meant that God was crying. Now I’m not saying that this is what these things mean. These are just things that I heard as a child. We thought that it was cool to know that God cried also. But let’s just say that the rain is God’s tears. When I think about the amount of water that is formed when the floods hit, I think oh my God has to be really sad about the world and our corruptness that He has shed enough tears to flood whole cities and states. I do know that His Word says that we have grieved Him and at one point He repented that He ever made man. What if He was crying? It would behoove us to figure out why. Some might say that there are good people who have lost their lives, everything they own or even lost family. If you don’t remember anything else, remember based on the Word of God, bad things can happen to good people. Stop being shocked when negative and bad things happen. Stop being shocked when you go through tribulations because bad things can happen to good people. But its’ what you do when the rain starts. Can you stop the Rain??
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 1.14.19
