Good Morning Lovelies. The rain is falling again but there is peace in the midst of the storm. Father God, I am so thankful that I have and am still learning to trust You. Thank You, Lord, that You are producing in us great endurance through the hard places in life. You are building spiritual muscles. No matter what obstacles we face. Thank You, that through every weakness and hard place in our life, Your strength is shown. We can’t do anything on our own. You are our helper and our strength. I know that sometimes I want answers. I want to try and make sense out of certain things that happen in life that just make no sense. I have learned that I can always depend on the Holy Spirit to bring comfort to those times of life that cause pain. Thank You, Lord fo,r Your precious Holy Spirit that lives in me. Help me to be teachable and to learn everything that You are teaching me. Help me to trust You to be the Master Potter. Help me to allow You to mold me and make me exactly what You want me to be. Lord, even if I have to hold onto the broken pieces of my life, help me to know without a doubt, I will make it because I know all things are possible through You. In Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen!
Hurt, grief, disappointment, sadness! Yes, I have experienced all of these, but praise be to God, I am still standing. I constantly remind myself that God is greater than any storm that may blow into my life. His grace is sufficient for every trial I face. I may be holding onto broken pieces, but at least I am still holding on through His grace. Everything may not always turn out the way I want, but I am learning to trust God and accept His will, not mine! Storms can hit every area of life. When a storm comes not only do things fall apart, you fall apart. And the right storm can make you feel so broken that you don’t think you are able to survive. So, you ask, “how do I survive a storm that broke my family? How do I survive a storm that made my finances go to pieces? How do I survive a storm that has left me so heartbroken I can’t function?
When life gets stormy and the winds blow, the rain beats down, the lightning strikes in various places and the thunder booms violently, we begin to be afraid and feel our lives are shipwrecked. But, even if we can just hold on to a broken piece, we know we will make it to shore. Acts 27:42-44, “The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners to prevent any of them from swimming away and escaping. But the centurion wanted to spare Paul’s life and kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and get to land. The rest were to get there on planks or on other pieces of the ship. In this way, everyone reached land safely.”
As soon as times get rough we are ready to bail out. It is only natural to want to avoid hardship. Nobody wants to go through it. But, sometimes the Lord wants us to stick it out. Many times we will be in a storm and we come to church faithfully but nothing seems to happen for our benefit. So we stop going, thinking it is a better way only to find out things are worse outside of the church. (Remember the church is not a building, but that’s a post for another day.) Digressing, when you are trying to make it to your destination in a storm, you have to do what the sailors did in Acts 27. You have to lighten your load by throwing out some stuff. Cutting some stuff off because it’s weighing you down. You’re going to have to get rid of it if you want to survive. There are some storms we can’t swim in because it is too much for us to handle. We are only surviving because we are holding on to the little we have left to keep from drowning.
You not only have to loosen some things so you can be guided in the right direction. There are some things that are binding you preventing you to go where God is telling you to go. But the problem is that you did it to yourself. You have to let go and let God. Yield to His will and way trusting in Him and He will direct your path.
We may be stuck in a storm but when you look at us at face value, we look good. But if you take a look behind us, you will see something different. Behind that smile is a lot of pain. Behind that dress and the suit are emotional scares that never have been dealt with. Behind that job and money are personal insecurities that have been crippling you for years. So don’t front like you got it all together while you are going through because behind the mask is damaged goods-a shipwreck. You aren’t what you appear to be. But with God’s help, you will survive! You will make it to shore on the broken pieces. You just have to realize that they are there for a purpose!
Live life, give people hope and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where God says that there should be a comma. As always peace and blessings, be safe.
