Good morning beloved. God is doing some amazing things in my life and the lives of others around me. Sometimes you can’t see it but you can’t look at the glass as if it is half empty. I don’t always see it, but I know the things that He can do so I just thank Him in advance.
When we were little kids we used to play a game called hide and seek. During this game one person would lean against a tree or whatever was closest and start counting while others would hide. The object was to hide in a place where no one could find you and when the person counting began to look for you, you could make it back to “go” or the place appointed for being “safe,” without them beating you or tagging you. But I want to touch on the hiding part of this game. I used to be able to find some of the best hiding places even on the roofs of little sheds or garages that had an extra piece that was like a storage. They would get so mad at me.
But, as I sit here and reminisce about my childhood, I realize that hiding behind stuff carried over into my adult life. The things that I have hidden behind, Lord have mercy are too numerous to name. Behind a man, abuse, a veil during marriage, and this list could go on. But I thank God that He is someone that can change and transform you from the old person that you use to be. He has shown me so much of myself and I am so glad that He loves me enough to do just that-change me. Because when I began to see me, I also began to really love me. Yes, as others, I loved myself but there is such a thing as have a façade of love. But, not really love. One of the first things He showed me to stop hiding behind is needing someone in my life to complete me. He showed me that I was complete when He created me. So now the only thing I want to hide behind is His veil. Yes, the veil of God. If you’ve ever been taken there during worship you would know what I’m talking about without an explanation.
Behind the veil is a place that is indescribable! Behind the veil of God is the most intimate of prayer. God is calling us to go behind the veil. The beautiful thing about this is that there is no need for someone to tie a rope around your ankle to pull you out. In Old Testament times, the tabernacle, in which the Jewish people worshiped and prayed consisted of three main parts: the outer court; the inner court, or holy place; and the most holy place, or Holy of Holies. The general congregation was restricted to the outer court. The priests had access to the inner court. But only the high priest could go behind the veil that separated the inner court from the Holy of Holies. This was the place where the presence of God was manifest.
In order to qualify for the privilege of meeting with God, the priest had to undergo certain rituals of purification. Today, we qualify to be in God’s presence not on the basis of rituals, but on the basis of our righteousness in Christ. We are all called to intimate fellowship with God, and relating to Him through prayer is our birthright as adopted sons and daughters of the Father. However, going beyond the veil—communing with God at the deepest level—requires that we be transformed. When you pass through the veil into the most holy place, the work of the flesh ceases and the work of the heart of God begins.
The more you come to God with a pure heart, the more He will take you to new levels and fresh, exciting experiences through your walk of prayer. If you are ready to find God beyond religion, or anything you have ever seen or experienced—He is calling for you.
Perhaps you have caught a glimpse of the glory of the Lord – music, prayer, sermon and you want it to last forever as did the disciples with Jesus at his “transfiguration.” But, when it doesn’t “LAST” – when the glory fades, we lose heart and begin to despair. Paul says, the Corinthians can have their veil removed only through Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:1). We too can have our veils removed. Those that mean us no good. That are not a part of God’s plan. We have many and I know I’m not the only one that can be transparent about this. This is what the Bible means when we are instructed to “work on the inner man.” The change is not immediate – the change we experience through Christ is a process moving from one degree of glory to another.
It is the Spirit of Christ who gives us life and hope to overcome the veils that lie over our minds and prevent us from encountering God. Do not lose heart, for the glory of the Lord will be revealed! We can now enter into the holiest presence of God because Jesus received the wages of sin on our behalf. However, in God’s wondrous grace we have been dressed with the pure robes of His perfect righteousness. We can now boldly enter into God’s presence for all eternity!
“You shall make a veil [to divide the two rooms] of blue, purple, and scarlet fabric and fine twisted linen, skillfully worked with cherubim on it. You shall hang it on four pillars (support poles) of acacia wood overlaid with gold, with gold hooks, on four silver sockets. You shall hang the veil from the hooks [that connect the curtains together], and you shall bring the ark of the Testimony there within the veil. The veil shall separate for you the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. You shall put the [a]mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies. You shall set the table [for the bread] outside the veil [in the Holy Place] on the north side, and the lampstand opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle.” Exodus 26:31-35
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:19-22
Live life, give people hope. Share your heart, wisdom and resources. Never place a period where God says there should be a comma.
