Good morning beloved. God has opened up the windows of heaven once again and blessed us with another beautiful day. Let’s not waste it in the trivial things of life. Be on purpose in all positivity today. Tomorrow may not afford you another chance.
Do you profess to belong to someone or something? Do you attribute things to what you have or experience to a particular person or period? Have you ever taken the time to really grasp your existence? Better yet, the One who is responsible for your existence! The point I’m making is when you ascribe to God you realize that He and only He is the reason for your life, and everything that you have. He is so worthy of worship. So many worship idols. I believe that we all have them in one form or another. But when we recognize them and get rid of them we are ascribing to God. We are giving Him the glory in all things.
When you discover true worship and experience it everyday you have a joy and a peace no man can take or give to you. Worship is everything we think, everything we say, and everything we do, revealing that which we treasure and value most in life. Redemption is the means; worship is the goal. In one sense, worship is the whole point of everything. It is the purpose of history, the goal of the whole Christian story. Worship is not one segment of the Christian life among others. Worship is the entire Christian life, seen as a holy offering to God. And when we meet together as a church, our time of worship is not merely a preliminary to something else; rather, it is the whole point of our existence as the body of Christ.
Worship is what we were created for. This is the final end of all existence-the worship of God. God created the universe so that it would display the worth of His glory. And He created us so that we would see this glory and reflect it by knowing and loving it-with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The church (us) needs to build a common vision of what worship is and what she is gathering to do on Sunday morning and scattering to do on Monday morning.
But what do we do, we treat worship as a ritual to go through. Unfortunately, in many places today, the focus of our worship is not on God or His Word. We focus on ourselves or what others are doing or wearing. We want our worship to be short and sweet so it doesn’t take too much time or effort. We are distracted, selfish and rushed with our worship. Not just corporately but in our hearts. Real authentic worship should be about ascribing to God His True worth. It should never be about you or me! All this means is that we should glorify God. Plain and simple. But never let you worship be plain and simple.
In fact, we could spend a lifetime ascribing greatness to God, adding more greatness to Him every day, and would never reach the end of His greatness. The fact that we opened our eyes this morning is a great reason to thank God. Why do I say this? I say this because this means that He has blessed us with one more day of life; therefore providing us with another opportunity to repent and get closer to Him.
Ask yourself the questions that I asked myself. Is my focus on God and His Word as I worship and praise Him? Is He being glorified in the way that I serve? Is God’s glory evident to others as a result of my service? Is my goal to dwell in His presence? I tell you these questions put me on my face because God opened my eyes to see me. To truly answer these questions you have to be willing to accept the answers that you are given to them. I thank God for loving me enough to show me when I need to do better. What are you ascribing to?
“Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord Glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts.” Psalm 69:6-8
Live life, give people hope. Share your Heart, wisdom and resources.
As always peace and blessings, be safe. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 3.15.16
