“A Powerful Love”

Love Image

Good morning Facebook family and friends. I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Father God, make me a vessel that can be used by you today. Purify my heart, mind and soul as I present it all to you so that I can be your instrument of healing, deliverance, and peace. I am your Servant teach me, make me, mold me, cover me and bless me to be all that you created me to be. Let me be the light that You shine through today. Touching someone the results in leading them to you. In the Mighty Matchless Name of Jesus I pray Amen!!!

God continues to give us defining moments. As breathing is to living. Have you really thought about what God’s love really entails? It is so intense that we are left speechless sometimes. I pray that God leads and guides you into all truth and everything that you touch will prosper.

I was thinking about the prodigal son today and what came to mind is that we all have or could have been the prodigal son or daughter. Or, we have known or had one. But when I think about this and I read about the prodigal son my focus always goes to God’s amazing love, which is demonstrated by the father in this parable. We delight in knowing that the Lord responds to us the same way when we stray from Him.

But today these scriptures make me look at my responsibility to love others. No matter how difficult the situation, what others may have done or didn’t do, I thank God for the capacity to respond with the same kind of love that He has shown us. Is it always easy? No, it’s not. But, because God has shown His love for me so many times I can’t help but to strive to show the kind of love that He would want me to. Again it is not always easy but the main reason for me that comes to mind is one of many. The main one being that He has allowed me a second chance again and again. So I refuse to waste these precious opportunities on negative things.

So we have to “Let go.’’ Even though the father had every right to refuse his second son’s foolish request, this father understood that the young man had already left home in his heart. God knows when we have left home in our hearts also. There may be times in our lives when the most loving thing we can do is also the most difficult-to step back and let a loved one go his or her own way. When you hang on and try to control the outcome, you may actually get in God’s way.

So our only resolve is to “wait.” Once we have let go, we must then wait patiently for the Lord to do His work in that person’s life. What stood out in this parable is that the father never searched for his son. This was a very hard thing for me to do when I experienced this. To stop looking. But even though the father knew that pain and trouble would follow such a foolish decision, he chose to trust God instead of trying to fix the situation and protect his son from the consequences of his unwise choice.

The only way that you can respond like this is to have confidence in the Lord’s plan for the ones that you are concerned about. He loves that person more than we can comprehend and understand. He knows the best way to reach a resistant heart. Our job is to watch and pray until God brings the prodigal to his or her senses. The love of Christ is so absolute and so powerful that there is absolutely nothing in the entire universe that can separate you from that love.

There is nothing that can take the completion you find in the love of Jesus away from you. There is nothing that can take the love that secured salvation away from you. The simple truth is that you cannot earn the love of Jesus and you cannot lose the love of Jesus.

All of these benefits that flow from the love that only Christ can give you are based on one condition, you have to choose to walk within them. You can walk away from the love of Jesus. I can see it on your faces you would never walk away from the love of Christ. The sad truth is that we do it every day and sometimes without knowing it. Each day that you choose not to pray is a day that you take another step away from the love of Christ. Each day that you harbor bitterness or resentment toward another person is a day that you step away from the love of Christ. Each day that you say something less than kind about another person or to another person is a day that you take another step away from the love of Christ.

I think that the deepest desire of the Christian is to be drawn closer and closer to Jesus but far too often we fail to find that kind of intimacy with Him. Why? I think we draw back when He draws close and we miss the magnetic moments of His divine love. Not every relationship is a good relationship. Not every choice is a good choice. Not every friendship is good for us. Not every job is a wise career move. Not every roommate is a healthy choice. Not every purchase is a wise use of our money. Sometimes we say, “Love is blind.” God says, “No, love needs clear vision.” Our love needs discernment or else we will end up loving things we ought not to love and entering into relationships that are not good for us. While love is supreme, it is never enough.

Life is so good with God in the center. Now problems turn into solutions, fear turns into hope, anger turns to love. I’m free in God and it’s the best place to be. I’ve learned to take risks and face challenges. I take no credit for any of this. To God be all the glory. He never let go. He took me from a bitter, unhappy, person and gave me the wings of eagles, soaring to heights I never dreamed possible. He’s given me his words to share with others. He’s restored my family, and has filled me with His love each day. Is Jesus the desire of your life today? Do you want more of Him? Maybe you just need to bask in the light of His love.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to  hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Romans 12:9-16

Live life, give people hope, and share your heart, wisdom, and resources. Never place a period where god says there should be a comma.

As always peace and blessings, be safe. Take advantage of your opportunities but never allow your opportunities to take advantage of you. Remember God loves you and so do I. ©krw 4.16.18
